The LCDC is partnering with the City of Coeur d’Alene and the 4th street property owners to help reconstruct 4th street from Lakeside Avenue to Harrison Avenue.  During the summer of 2008, several public meetings were held addressing the proposed 4th Street reconstruction and place making initiative.  This public outreach effort was well received and very productive, leading to a placemaking concept that will transform a deteriorated section of 4th street into a safer, pedestrian friendly, vibrant corridor.  A segment of the placemaking concept is shown below.  In addition, LCDC is partnering with the Idaho Housing & Finance Association (IHFA) to construct a mix use building on 4th street that will include workforce housing residential units as well as street level retail and office space.
